Bio
Ellen Boscov loves acting and puts her heart into her work. Ellen was thrilled to play Andy Kaufman's mother in the feature film Saturday Night starring Gabriel Labelle and directed by Jason Reitman. Ellen had the pleasure of acting in supporting roles in a number of upcoming films including The Events Surrounding a Peeping Tom opposite Terry Kiser and directed by Hannah Fierman, Burying Bubby opposite Robert Smigel and directed by Eitan Levine and Gabriel Laks, Ebenezer the Traveler with Christopher Brian Roach directed by Joe Valenti, and Brad directed by Eugene Kolb.
In 2023, Ellen was delighted to guest star on Albie’s Elevator on PBS KIDS, and on Comedy Central Mini-Mocks TV series. It was an honor for Ellen to act in the MTV short film, In Your Hands, which aired in 2022 to celebrate Jewish Heritage month and in 2023 to celebrate Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Ellen is the proud mother of filmmaker, Amelia Xanthe Boscov. Being Amelia’s real-life mother is Ellen’s most important and favorite role. Ellen also played the voice of the fetus in Amelia’s upcoming film, Tripping, which stars Dot-Marie-Jones.
In addition to her Film and TV work, Ellen has acted at numerous theaters across the country (including the Wisconsin Shakespeare Festival, Cable Car Theater and The Marsh in San Francisco, and the Adrienne Theater in Philadelphia); and she has performed at many improv and sketch comedy venues. Ellen recently moved to NYC from Philadelphia where she performed regularly as a house member at Philly Improv Theater.
Ellen is a classically trained actor, holding a BFA in acting from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. She is also a graduate of Philly Improv Theatre training program in improv comedy. Further studies include screen acting with Anthony Aibel, improvisational dance with Group Motion, and improvisational movement and storytelling with Body Tales. Ellen is a member of SAG-AFTRA and AEA.
